Features/Products & Catalog

A catalog that looks like your shelves.

Photos, barcodes, prices, minimum levels and two fields of your own. Add a product by scanning it, or bring the whole list in from a CSV.

What a product holds

Up to five photos

A photo of the box beats a description of it. Five per product, taken on the phone you are already holding.

Barcodes and QR codes

EAN, UPC, Code 128 and QR. Scan an unknown barcode and trakr offers to create the product there and then.

Cost and retail price

Keep both, so inventory value can be read at cost or at retail.

Minimum stock level

Set the number you never want to drop below, and let the weekly low-stock summary do the watching.

Two custom fields

Per location, for whatever your business actually tracks — supplier, lot, aisle, allergen.

Categories and storage

Group products by category and place them in areas and storage locations, so a count can follow the room.

Add by scanning

Point the camera at a barcode that is not in your catalog yet and create the product without leaving what you were doing. Scan a book ISBN and the title and cover fill themselves in.

Or bring your list

Import from a CSV and trakr matches your columns — name, barcode, cost, price, minimum level, notes and more. Sortly exports are recognised automatically.

Stock comes from counting

Importing a catalog does not set quantities, and that is deliberate. Run one count after the import and your opening numbers are numbers somebody actually saw.

Available intrakrGotrakr InventoryCounting methods and RFID tags: trakr Inventory only.

Catalog questions

How many products can I add?

In trakrGo, unlimited. There is no cap on the catalog and no trial clock.

How many photos per product?

Up to five.

Can I add my own fields?

Yes, two custom fields per location — useful for a supplier, a lot number or a shelf code.

Does scanning a book fill in the details?

Yes. Scan an ISBN and trakr fills in the title and cover for you.

Why did my stock quantities not import?

Stock levels in trakr come from counting. Import your catalog, then run one count — your starting numbers are then real, not copied.
